VAL presented RIW Hobbies & Games with a Certificate of Appreciation on April 17, 2026. RIW has supported VAL’s mission of ending social isolation among veterans and their families through tabletop gaming since July 2025. The Livonia Chapter presented the award to Pam Willoughby, founder and owner of RIW and daughter of a military veteran. Visit RIW

VAL was featured in a story highlighting weekly D&D sessions hosted at the Hackley Public Library in Muskegon for military veterans and family members. Participants and organizers emphasized how the game fosters camaraderie and conversation among attendees. Read the article

VAL attended the Strength Over Suicide event. This event was a community-driven initiative hosted by the VA Ann Arbor Health Care, which combined powerlifting and strongman competitions to promote suicide prevention.
